Check out the awesome new youth books now available at the library in the photo gallery below! Of special note to readers this month might be Nick and Charlie by Alice Oseman which is a new Hearstopper-related novella. YA readers may also like How to Be a (Young) Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi & Nic Stone which is a YA adaptation of the original book. For our younger Graphic Novel lovers out there, Officer Clawsome Lobster Cop by Brian Smith looks like the perfect read for fans of the InvesitGATORS and Dog Man.
In the picture book world, Marla Frazee’s In Every Life was actually one of three new picture books that made me cry this month (the others were Finding Papa by Angela Pham Krans and Stillwater and Koo Save the World by Jon J. Muth). In Every Life stands out because Frazee’s sparse, lyrical text and gorgeous illustrations seem to flow straight from the page into your soul. Fans of All the World (written by Liz Scanlon but illustrated by Frazee) will immediately fall in love with this book as well. While In Every Life does not tell a specific story, the beautiful pictures will keep both kids and adults engaged and likely bring about a great deal of discussion when read together. We highly recommend In Every Life for Everyone!
