Summer Reading 2024–Adventure Begins at Your Library

Welcome to the Brown Public Library’s Summer Reading Program! This year our Summer Reading Program will include weekly crafts at the library available throughout our open hours, special programs including a wildlife visit and a clown performance, and Storytimes at the Roxbury Fish Culture Station and the Northfield Fire Station in addition to our regular weekly programming. All of these programs are open to kids of all ages with no registration required (our LEGO Challenge on Saturday, August 3rd is the only event this summer that will require registration). You can check out a complete list of all of our Summer Programming here or  take a look at our calendar to see what’s happening and when.

Children ages 4 and up are also eligible to register for our Summer Reading Program and log their reading in order to earn small prizes as they go as well as raffle tickets for a chance to win larger prizes including gift certificates, tickets to the Pump House at Jay Peak, and a pretty incredible backpack filled with cool stuff from Northfield’s very own Ralphie’s Funhouse. When your child completes their reading log they will also earn a free book, a token for a free small creemee from Paul Bean Creemees, and a special prize from our Suitcase of Fun. You can register your child to participate in the reading log portion of the Summer Reading Program here. Reading logs will be available at the library beginning Saturday, June 15th. You can also view details about our Summer Reading Program here.

Don’t miss our Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party on Saturday, June 22nd from 10:30 am – noon in the Community Room at the Brown Public Library. We will have ice cream, crafts, and other fun. Kids of all ages are welcome at the party!
