Application For Employment: Candidates responding to advertised positions at the Brown Public Library should complete this Application for Employment.

The Board of Trustees for the Brown Public Library will have three seats available as of March 2018. Two seats are for three year terms. The third seat is being vacated by a Trustee who is moving out of town. The term for this seat will be for the two remaining years of a three year term. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please get a petition from the Town Clerk's office in December to be added to the ballot for Town Meeting Day to be held on March 6, 2018. Library Board members are elected officials and must be a registered voter and resident of Northfield. The Board of Trustees is the legal governing authority of the library, and has the final responsibility for deciding library policy and budgetary procedures. The Board typically meets once a month. Interested candidates are welcome to speak with current Board members with any questions about the level of commitment and responsibilities.

The Board of Trustees is the legal governing authority of the library, and has the final responsibility for deciding library policy and budgetary procedures. The board normally meets on the second Tuesday of every other month at 5:00 p.m. in the Community Room, unless a schedule change is announced. All board meetings are open to the public. People are encouraged to attend. Vermont's Open Meeting Law, codified at 1 V.S.A 311 et. seq., applies to all Board meetings. The frequency and general schedule of Board's meetings are posted in the library and on the library website. The Trustees may be contacted at: bpltrustees@trans-video.net
